DiRAC Lecture & Lightning Talks: Uncovering Dark Matter with Stellar Streams
You’re invited to join the UW DiRAC Institute for an evening of discoveries, featuring a special lecture by Prof. Nora Shipp and her research team. What is dark matter — and how do we search for something we can’t see?
Dr. Shipp will take us inside one of astronomy’s most compelling mysteries, sharing how she and her team use the stars of the Milky Way as cosmic detectors to probe the invisible universe around us. The evening continues with four lightning talks from members of Prof. Shipp’s team — graduate students and postdoctoral researchers on the front lines of this work — offering a rare window into the science happening right now at UW.
Registration opens on Oct 28th
This event is free and open to the public. Seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis, registration is required to attend. Beverages and light appetizers will be provided.
